Costume Designs - Sophie Bishop

We will follow these designs as close as we can.

Man - Main character
The costume will be somewhat simple, so it doesn't distract from the video. The shirt is black as apposed to white, so it doesn't represent purity, this will come into the video towards the end. The character will have a black eye, due to his disruptive life style.

Woman
At first this character will be introduced as the boyfriend of the main character who pushes her away because of his selfish ways/alcoholism/demons, so her costume is casual, she will be going to her mums birthday party so it will not be too causal.

Vigil - Tim Wheeler - Sophie Bishop

This is the trailer of the song, Vigil by Tim Wheeler. I really enjoy the mood and atmosphere created, from the lighting and color. I like the medium shot on the hill, with him in the center of the frame, and the sky. The sky has a red/pink color representing anger, I like this unique way of showing anger.

Production Meeting One

Focus Experiments

During scenes within the house we wanted to show different types of focuses. I decided to look at both shallow and deep focuses, I did this as I felt it would suit with the song that we are producing the music video for.

Transition Inspiration

Video starts at 1:14 finishes at 1:21

During our music video we are going to show our character in a graveyard. We will show the character lying on the floor surrounding by beer/vodka bottles to suggest he had been out drinking and then ended up sleeping in a graveyard against a church. I felt it would be a way to transition to the character getting up of the fall to him walking out of the graveyard.

Jamie T - Don't You Find - inspiration - Sophie Bishop

We take inspiration fro the location/setting and props in this video. It is a very simple set, which allows the audience to relate, because of the lack of props representing wealth The space around the characters show isolation, which is a large theme within or narrative video.

Website Analysis/research - Sophie Bishop

This is a video of my analysis to The 1975's website.

Website map:

Creating the draft of the website, using WIX:

Deciding fonts:

I would like to look at structured and angry styled fonts, to match our artists style and music video.

Using photoshop I have used the Perpetua Titling MT, to create the title.

I have used hyperlinks to link each page to the home page, I have a Music, Gallery, Contact and Links tabs.

I have made images to have as links, so it is interesting yet still black and white and very structural.

I have used Photoshop to do this, by taking the existing logo, making it black and white and placing over a black circle.

This is the links page.

I have now taken away the Intstagram and Facebook logos, because they can target their audience easier on the other social medias.

I have added an audio player to the website, so it automatically plays on a loop. This helps get the artists music out there, the audio player is placed on each page.
We wanted to have a minimalistic approach to our website, to represent the punk rock band.

Animatic

This is our animatic, to our rock song and teen drama conceptual video, I have edited this on Final cut pro. This has helped us decide if we needed any more shots, in order to have as much visuals as soundtrack. We have had to draw some more shots up, in order to bring our style into it more, and to gain more time.

Lip Syncing test/experiment - Sophie Bishop

I have used final cut pro, to edit the lyrics, in time with the visuals. This footage was filmed, giving us practise using the camera, using shallow depth of field. It also gave be practise with lip syncing. We will have to improve on directing our actors, and taking more than just 2 takes, in order for it to be perfect.

Reversed for shot

To create the shot we had to record what we were doing backwards, for example creating a paper aeroplane and then dismantling it to form a normal piece of paper again. We then put the footage onto final cut and reversed it. Sophie B edited it on final cut by right clicking on each and clicking change speed, where she then clicked the reverse box.

Timecode - Sophie Bishop

This time codes shows what time it is at every line. This will help us determine how many shots we need, and how long they should be.
