The Archetypes Digi Pak

This is the template I will be using, to complete the digipak for the artist.

Back:

I am using a grey background so as I decrease the opacity of the main image, wood planks, it will have a tint of this grey colour.

I am decreasing the saturation and altering the brightness and contrast of this image, front he main cover.

I am now decreasing the opacity so the text will stand out.

I have now written the song titles in the centre, as the background leads the eye, lines of the planks.

This is the final back cover, which I feel is really effective and professional. 

Disk:

Using the same background as the back panel, I have decreasing the opacity.

This is the disk, which is a similar tone as the background.

I have then used the same font as the back panel and front cover. The disk is simple as the 1975's is.

Inside Panel: 

This is a photo Sophie has taken.

I have resized the image to fit, and edited it to remove some colour and alter the brightness and contrast.  This will be the inside panel.

I have used Photoshop to put these together, I have placed them together as if it were to be printed.

We want our digi pak to have the concept of being isolated laced throughout it. We have come to the conclusion of the album being called 'Isolated', so we need negative space int he front cover and throughout the pak to create this concept. We are following the 1975's album colour scheme, keeping it simple yet stylish.

Evidence

In the first half of the lesson I started to plan for the album cover for the digipak. I picked an image that I had taken previously. I then started to edit it on photoshop. At the moment i've changed the tone of the image, i've added text but I still need to adjust and add more.

In the second half of the lesson I started my 30 seconds of the music video, I need to add a few more seconds to get myself to the 60 second point so Sophie can continue.

Album Cover Digipak Planning

I decided to look at a different range of images for our album cover. When deciding on the images for the cover we both felt it would be a good idea to use screen shots from our music video so that there would be a consent theme throughout.

Based on the sound of the song we decided to use and the message we are trying to purpose with our video I decided to pick between these next images.

When carefully looking at all the images, I felt it would be best to use the first image as our album cover. I felt this was be the best image as it shows the fallen and broken flowers, which represent the relationship and main characters life falling apart. I also decided to use this image as it was the most c;ear.

I will edit the album cover on a range of different programmes including iPhoto and Photoshop.

You Me At Six Digipak

I decided to look at You Me At Six as I felt they had a similar styles to the artist we had decided to create a music video for. 

The digipak has quite a dark look and that's what we want to show when creating our own. 

Both the album packaging and CD have a simple black and white design, showing a simple and slightly reckless message, yet still shows a story through the image and the title of the album.

The front of the album has a dark feel to it and this is an element that I would like to bring forward when creating the cover for the digipack. The font is quite edgy and bold and makes the back cover look impressive. All of the digipak works well together, kind of creating a theme, this is something that I would like to show.

Risk Assessment

The 1975 Digipack

This self titled album by the 1975, follows there whole style, black and white and simple, like their website analysis, which I also analysed. The front cover is very simple with a lit up square with the logo of the band on. the CD is basic black iht a grey title of the band/title on. The back cover is again black and white, same font, listing the records. The other side is listing s the rights and record label etc. The digipack is very atmospheric and cool, because it is simple and their is a lot of space. the font is kept the same to have continuity and familiarity for the audience.

In our digipack we would like to follow the simple but stylish route, so we will experiment with using black and white, perhaps not as simple as the 1975's.

A digpack usually has around 12-18 songs, our artists does not have many so we will have to make some up.

We are going to take two of our favourite ideas, and proceed to a mood board perhaps further, then see what we like. We may combine them, or proceed to develop one more. We will use audience/peer feedback to decide.

Last minute addition - argument - Sophie Bishop

In our music video we now want to add some shots of an argument, we will film different angles and shots to make it really interesting and fast to the beat. I have taken inspiration from the following programs and films.

Update 4

We have also removed the young boy character as the character was difficult to find, and we would not be able to use him the whole day. But this was we can condense the music video down so it is easy to follow.
